No Commission Baccarat Explained: Rules, Payouts and the Banker 6
How No Commission Baccarat works, how its payouts differ from standard baccarat, and why a Banker win with 6 paying half changes the house edge.

Key takeaways
- In No Commission Baccarat, winning Banker bets are paid 1:1 with no 5% commission — except a Banker win with a total of 6, which pays only 1:2 (half).
- Player and Tie bets pay the same as in standard baccarat.
- Because of the Banker 6 rule, the house edge on Banker rises from about 1.06% to about 1.46%.
- The roadmap is drawn exactly the same way. No Commission only changes the payouts.
What is No Commission Baccarat?
In standard baccarat, the Banker hand wins slightly more often than the Player hand. To balance this, the casino takes a 5% commission from every winning Banker bet.
No Commission Baccarat removes that commission. Most Banker wins are paid in full. In exchange, one specific result pays less: when the Banker wins with a total of 6, the bet pays only half.
The cards, the drawing rules and the chance of each result stay exactly the same.
Payouts compared
| Result | Standard baccarat | No Commission |
|---|---|---|
| Banker wins (total other than 6) | 0.95:1 | 1:1 |
| Banker wins with a total of 6 | 0.95:1 | 1:2 (half) |
| Player wins | 1:1 | 1:1 |
| Tie | 8:1 | 8:1 |
An example with a bet of 100
| Result | Standard baccarat | No Commission |
|---|---|---|
| Banker wins with 8 | +95 | +100 |
| Banker wins with 6 | +95 | +50 |
| Banker loses | −100 | −100 |
Most of the time, a winning Banker bet pays slightly more at a No Commission table. But when the Banker wins with 6, it pays much less — and over many hands, those half-payouts cost more than the commission they replace.
The house edge: why "no commission" costs more
| Bet | Standard baccarat | No Commission |
|---|---|---|
| Banker | about 1.06% | about 1.46% |
| Player | about 1.24% | about 1.24% |
| Tie (8:1) | about 14.4% | about 14.4% |
The name sounds like a better deal, but the numbers say the opposite: on No Commission tables, the Banker bet has a higher house edge than in standard baccarat — and even slightly higher than the Player bet.
How often does the Banker win with 6?
A Banker win with a total of 6 happens in about 5.4% of hands — roughly once every 19 hands. It is not rare. In a typical shoe of 70 or more hands, you will usually see it several times.
Does the roadmap change?
No. The roadmap records who won each hand — Banker, Player or Tie — and that is not affected by payouts. The Big Road, Bead Road and the three derived roads are drawn exactly the same way on No Commission tables.
